What I learned in 2013-2014 (Aerial Assist)

"Robotics isn't just about building a robot and making it do things. Its about cooperating with your team to develop a machine that embodies everyone's ideas and skills. It's about teamwork and building intimate bonds with those around you. That is what robotics meant to me this year."
Jason

"I've learned an incredible amount of knowledge pertaining to leadership and work ethic. US FIRST Robotics has turned me into a smarter, more determined and more experienced future engineer. I know that all the knowledge I gained this year, and more that I will gain next year, will definitely aid me in my future to become a computer scientist. "
Antonio

"During the time we spent assembling robot 5100. I learned to be patient and to work with others. I also learned how to manage and distribute the required amount of work. First Robotics also taught me that nothing is impossible, and that everything requires work and time. Success doesn't necessarily mean that you have win first place, but instead is merely the idea of acquiring new methods and ideas."
Diana

"Participating in FIRST Robotics allowed me the chance, to fully experience what it is like to work in a big group and cooperate in order to build an actual robot from scratch. At the beginning, I thought it was impossible to actually build the robot, but I was proved wrong by both myself and my teammates. Going to the first round of competitions, was incredible. Seeing the different types of styles and methods, people from other teams shows how the mind is limitless."
Nicole

"I had an invaluable experience being part of the team. It gave me an insight of the technology field, and which skills it possibly takes to pursue Robotics, or any related section, as a future career. Most importantly, I learned it's possible."
Abigail

"This was our first competition ever in the robotics. Our school had zero experience in this area, yet still we strive to be the best there ever was. This is more than who gets first, second, or even third place, this type of project resemble real life jobs. You have to work with people you might not like, or are in love with. It doesn't matter as if you are not willing to work together you have signed your contract to failure. At the end of this wonderful experiences and one cannot begin to imagine the nourishment your mind and bonds you make with people. Remember the word impossible has "I'm possible"."
Leonardo

"We have to be organize and on task. We all have to be careful with the tools. Even being first timers we still did great! :)"
Elisha

"This year, I learned teamwork, being organize, workhard, different ideas and most importantly, I learned how to use tools. Also, I learned skills to build a robot. :)"
Dahye

" I learned that the very first step is important. We spent much time on design that we barely had enough time to build and test the robot. The design team couldn't communicate and ask the other teams if we could do somethings. So we couldn't find  the "best" design. So we had to just choose within our group and told the others what to do. So the next time, we will have a very organized group and communicate to other groups."
Justin

"What I learned this year in Robotics is that being organized is the most essential for our team efficiency and able to get the job done and well. As our first year, being on task was bit of a problem, as we learn how to prioritize our jobs."
Victor

"I learned more knowledge on creating a website. I gained new friends, teamwork, skills, patience, and the ability to push myself more."
Steffany

"I learned how to on a team, not just as individual but we cooperate on every thing. I learned that from failure comes success. I learned how to build a successful moving robot. I wish that I could have this experience again next year."
Hugo

"I learned how to use various tools in order to build, dismantle, and rebuild several parts of the robot."
Raul

"Working well with teammates is a key element of having a successful experience. Putting" aside all the differences, the team managed to form bonds with each other. Robotics was very stressful but we were able to have a great time."
Jan

"First Robotics was a great opportunity to get involved in the importance of engineering. Although as a rookie team, the outcome was not great. Here we were able to make friends and be more involved. One thing "I learned was that procrastination will never bring good result. We should have managed our time wisely and distributed the work evenly. Overall, First Robotics was an extraordinary project that I will never forget."
Hyesung

"Communication is important! that's it. "
Yoojin

"What I have learned is that teamwork is one of the most important skill you need in order to be competitive in any competition."
Cesar

" Robotics programming helps me learned how to work as a team, it also gained me skills in terms of good decision. I also learned how to program and do some mechanical aspect which will be good for pursuing Computer Science in the future."
Xuemei

" Cooperative learning, teamwork, mechanical knowledge. I learned that everyone is important in developing something great."
Jonathan

" I learned that communication was key to reaching our goal. Working together and helping and contributing your skills are necessary to produced good output."
Pooreum

" I learned the importance of promoting unity in a team as well as team spirit. I also learned the proper structure in a big team as ours. Organizing ourselves into smaller groups saved tie and enabled people to use the best of their abilities"
Jaqueline

" I learned not to leave assignment until the last minute. I learned new topics on coding with Java."
Edgar

" I learned that there are many different ways of people coming together through the mechanics of robotics. It was amazing to learn and get used to the environment of robotics"
Melissa

" I learned how to build Robots, and how to work as a team to cooperate."
Kristina

" I learned that it doesn't matter if you're a rookie as long as you had fun."
David

" I learned that there are many ways to program a robot. I learned different functions that a robot can follow to seem more human-like, which will help me in my future plans."
Hansung
